Last weekend I helped Laura’s family out with their Sauce making day – a day where their family comes together (very early in the morning mind you – it was a 4.30am start!) to make enough pasta sauce for the extended family for the next year.We started out with 500kg of tomato’s (thats right, half a ton), and over the course of the next 10-11 hours cooked, crushed and bottled them producing this years batch of about 300-400 bottles of sauce.
This was my first sauce day, and I can tell it wont be my last. It was great fun, although I was pretty buggered at the end of it – and it didn’t help that we had to drive back to Melbourne for work on Monday morning (I think a Saturday might be a good idea next year).
As usual, I took a heap of photos and have posted them in my gallery.
